Since
God descended from heaven
and came down on earth for us,
there can be no doubt that He loves us.
And when someone loves us,
even more, when God himself loves us,
everything is easier for us on earth,
easier to understand.
Beyond life’s dark lines
we discern His loving hand at work,
a reason for things
which often goes unnoticed by us,
a loving reason.
Everything becomes more bearable then,
more imbued with joy,
since beyond life’s sweet brushstrokes—
a beautiful love blossoming,
the birth of a child,
a sudden fortune—
there is a Father’s Providence.
Then everything becomes possible
if one believes,
if one believes in a God
who loves us,
every impossibility can be shattered,
even the apparent impossibility
that this cradle, our planet which is our home—
can be at peace.
Yes, everything is possible.
Indeed, since the Almighty has come among us,
our faith can dare ask more.
We can believe that if we hope and ask for it with all
our heart,
our world can move toward unity:
toward harmony between social classes,
between races,
between Christians divided for centuries,
between believers of different religions,
between peoples of every nation.
