Watching the news recently, one could easily sympathize with the protesters
in Burma as they were rounded up. As more than half of humanity suffers oppression by poverty, dictators and communist regimes, yet another kind of oppression weighs down the majority, namely, the imprisonment of disunity. This imprisonment is best exemplified in the attitude of many people who are indifferent to or negative about the Church and religion, in their dwindling confidence in priests and clergy, and worse, by many young people’s losing the very fear of God as shown in their relativistic and hedonistic attitude.
